A reducer is one of most prevalent transition mechanisms. The modern designing method consisted of parameter technology, optimizing technology and"VP"can solver the problems of long designing cycle, high cost and high risk. Many companies have proved it practicable.The Virtual Prototype Technology is one of new design and analysis technology. It is an integration of parameterized technology and optimized design technology. The cost expensed on physical prototype is reduced. The total cost is less. And the time is saved. So, the risk is reduced."2K-V"reducer is one of complex planetary mechanism. It contains many phases, many cranks parallel connection and many teeth joggled..The paper is based on Parameter Technology and Virtual Prototype Technology. The below jobs about the designing and simulation of"2K-V"reducer are achieved by CAD/CAE software.(1) The parameterized method is studied about modified gears.(2) The kinematical analysis of"2K-V"reducer is completed by the means of Mechanism Transforming Method and Triangle analytic method.(3) The dynamic equation of 2K-V reducer is reduced on the base of Lagrange Equation.(4) The ADAMS simulation theory and the numerical analysis process are detailed introduced. The process is same to (3).(5) The"2K-V"reducer prototype on joints is built in the interface of Mech/Pro.(6) The virtual prototype is rebuilt by the method of"on contact"to simulation the reality. The kinematical and dynamic simulation is redone.The virtual prototype of"2K-V"reducer has never been found from the documents before. The simulation difficult of the complex structure of parallel connection and planetary gears is resolved. The simulation strengthens the kinematical rule of the mechanism. The hypothesis is broken. The simulation can provide essential data for the manufacture and test of physical prototype. It can be the base of the optimization of structure and performance, the analysis of quiver, noise, life span. The prototype can be used to analyse the parameter and dynamic performance. It also can be extend to new prototype. The parameter validation and its force effect can be known about by the simulation. The simulation study has important academic and practical meaning to the industrialization of the mechanism.
