In September 7, 2006, COSTIND issued "Ship building industry long-term development plan 2006-2015)". We have the plan to make our country become the world's leading and power shipbuilding country in 2015.After years of efforts and development, our country has become the world's third largest shipbuilding country, and the share of the ship market has the trend of shifting from Japan and South Korea to China. For narrowing the technology gap with Japan and South Korea, China's shipbuilding industry is promoting the establishment of a modern shipbuilding mode, and actively improving the Chinese shipbuilding industry in the world shipbuilding competitiveness, as well as against risks. However, we still have great technology gap between Korea and Japan, particularly lags far behind in the shipbuilding process. In South Korea, the total ring block construction method was implemented, the total block was giant (about 3000t), but the largest ship block is not more than 1000t in our country. At the same time, the water production technology, engineering and equipments, which were matching the method of total block construction of the hull, are still lagging behind. Despite the emergence of heavy plat carrier, high-altitude operation car and work platform for assembling oar and rudder, which were matching the advanced construction method, we still use the traditional method to assemble the sub-hull (total) block. In order to short the cycle of ship production on the berth, a shipyard is promoting the total shipbuilding method. And we designed a new program which was used more than one synchronous automatic sub-hull assembly car to adjust the position of the overall hull block on the berth for this shipyard, and the car was with the characteristics of robot. In this thesis, a preliminary study of the mechanical structure model for automatic sub-hull assembly car has been done with three-dimensional virtual simulation technology. And a program design of assembly devices was done for the technology needs of a shipyard. The equipment was divided into the upper part of ship positioning module and the lower part of the support structure model by functional decomposition with system design method. Then each part was studied separately. In the design of the upper part, the transmission form of the main lifting unit and the model of the tanks was chose. And the layout of the main tanks and two vice tanks was researched. The support of hull and the connection between the upper part and the lower part of the equipment was also studied. In the research of the lower part, the initial form and dimensions of the structure was determined firstly in accordance with the actual situation of the shipyard. Then a simple mechanical structure analysis was done, and the condition of structure analysis was chose. After that, the three-dimensional solid model of the lower support structure which was set up by SolidWorks was imported into Workbench for checking whether the structural was safe. And the steel wheels and axles were also checked by mechanical structure analysis to ensure that the safety of the hull and the entire automatic sub-hull assembly devices. Finally, the conclusion was drawn and the tendency of study in automatic sub-hull assembly devices for ship block was put out.
