In recent years, with the rapid development of China's national economy and the improvement of people's living standards, the demand from people in the food quality and safety is becoming higher and updating. The production of perishable goods is growing and the food cold chain has also been taken more and more attention. As an important means of specialized transport, refrigerated transport plays the important role on ensuring the quality and reducing the loss of goods. It owned good characteristics such as its flexibility and convenient for multimodal transport, so that got more extensive attention. However, the refrigerated volume of Chinese railway is decreasing because of the changes of market demand, transport capacity and other reasons. Based on this background, the research on the development and operation of railway refrigerated container has great significance such as to seize the opportunity of market, the structural optimization of railway refrigerated vehicles, and the improvement of China's comprehensive refrigerated transport service system, as well as a key role in cold-chain logistics and the backbone of national economic development. This dissertation firstly describes the trends of refrigerated transport development, as well as the investigation on refrigerated transportation market in China. Secondly, in order to master the differnces among B22, B10, 20/45 feet refrigerated container and refrigerator cars, the dissertation uses the multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate technicality and economy of vehicles, which contains 3 levels, 10 indexes. And also establishes the competitive advantage model to calculate the competitive advantages scope of B22, B10 railway mechanical refrigerator cars and 45 feet refrigerated container. Thirdly, the dissertation sets up the improved gravity model to forecast the railway refrigerated perishable goods' OD volume flows between main node cities and analyses transportation organizational forms of railway refrigerated container in the future. Finally, the dissertation also analyses the operation and management of refrigerated containers and puts forward some policy suggestion.
