The EPS system obtaine the widespread application and the attention, as the more and more high request about the handling stability and the security comfort of the vehicle ,and the EPS system research has become more and more thorough. The unceasing promotion of simulation software and the further enhancement of the computer simulation technology offer more accurate, direct-viewing, the comprehensive research technique to the research about the ESP system.The vehicle multi-degrees of freedom three dimensional simulation model has been established in the paper with the Virtual prototype Technology (VP) and the co-simulation technology, and The EPS system influence on the vehicle handling stability has been simulated and analysed, all of these provided a reliable method to the development and the research of the EPS system.In the paper, ADAMS 2003 is used to establish the front suspensions with steering knuckle,the rear suspensions,the steering system,tires modle and road file, etc, thus establish the three dimensional vehicle dynamics simulation model.By the simulation about the vehicle model whitout EPS under the steeringwheel angle step input , sine input and the tumble simulation about the vehicle model,the steeringwheel force-characteristic,the aligning-characteristic, transient steering-characteristic and the tumble-characteristic of the vehicle are examined under the different input without EPS. In this paper,the EPS system is installed on the steering system model, and the designation EPS system controlling module is established in MATLAB/Simulink, the co-simulation technology is used to connect the vehicle simulation model in ADAMS and the EPS control module in the Matlab/Simulink,and establishe the vehicle simulation model with EPS and its control module.The handling stability simulation experimentation is carried on for the vehicle with the EPS, the steeringwheel force-characteristic,the aligning-characteristic, transient steering-characteristic under the steeringwheel angle step input and sine angle input and the tumble-characteristic are contrasted and analysed about the vehicle with the EPS system and the original vehicle.The simulation result indicated the EPS can develop the steeringwheel force-characteristic,the aligning-characteristic,the transient steering-characteristic and the tumble-characteristic.
