Research On Western Sichuan Traditional Architectural Vocabulary In The New Residential Design

Sichuan is a region with a rich historical accumulation, particularly advantageous natural conditions of the Chengdu Plain region. There is a unique human created environment in the region which kind of culture impacts of the traditional architectural culture. This paper studies the western Sichuan geographical environment and cultural background to explore the relationship between architectural layout. It analysises the impact of traditional thinking, folk culture, also the way of life and customs to the traditional architecture of the western Sichuan. Also it interprets the construction characteristics of the western Sichuan interpretation from the space characteristic, type characteristic, and decorative detail, etc. And it discusses the re-creation of traditional architectural features in the new residential building linked up the residential buildings with contemporary creation. The study of this paper is built on the previous written by a large number of articles and information, also by the results of the previous study and organize. It reflects living architectural culture now in one aspect. It hopes to get a more comprehensive collate from the traditional vocabulary of memory of the residential buildings.
