Exploration To The Model Of New Rural Residential Environment Design In The Western Sichuan Plain

The western Sichuan plain is one of the most fertile plains in China, that with advantaged natural environment makes it become the fundamental life carrier of the local traditional village residents, it is the emotional sustenance and spiritual end-result of people’s daily working life. Traditional settlement landscape, traditional western Sichuan buildings and courtyard space gather with folk craftsmen infinite intelligence, concentratively reflected the cultural exchange and collision results in western Sichuan area. The cultural customs here is pluralistically, social culture environment is extremely local characteristics, the living environment with high-aesthetic value, historical preservation value and scientific research value, that is necessary to survive and continue in the new era.This article, through the deep investigation and study of traditional residence in Sichuan environment, carried on the thorough discussion in turn from a macro level of enviroment to micro level of building and courtyard characteristics of traditional residence in Sichuan environment, analyzed the traditional settlements form of "park long out of the eaves, wear DouBai white wall" due to the natural environment and social environment characteristics; summarized the law of general location of traditional village shortcut or in accordance with the water in the advantageous natural conditions western Sichuan plain; summarized the common building types which includes straight type,"L" and "U" types, the courtyard layout forms and the corresponding space forms of traditional courtyard. Combining with environmental behavior at the same time, through statistical analysis of the space requirements of residential environment with People’s Daily life, work, communication, it concluded the general layout regularity of the traditional residential environment construction.From the proposition to implement of the new rural construction, we have built many rural settlements. However, the overall layout mode is quite flat and unvaried, for example:imitation the layout form of urban residential area, disordered architectural forms, lacking the affinity and speciality of countryside life atmosphere, and lacking of the consideration of the continuing local traditional culture in the western Sichuan plain area. After several studies, we have put forward the proposing that the residents living environment design should be based on the needs of the local people, by developing the western Sichuan plain environment to aim at forming the unique settlement landscape in western Sichuan aera. Our proposition is the result of the analyse the ancient city of FuRong in western Sichuan region and the new rural village project, the representative of the new rural construction. Furthermore, we have done the surveys on the requirements of the local people for the security, the comfort, the privacy, and the terrain. Moreover, we have collected the public opinion poll of occupying the architectural space, backyard space and the public space according to the theory of architecture, landscape ecology, environmental psychology and environmental behavior. There are two layers in the proposition:the landscape planning and design theory for ideal settlement of site selection model on the macro level, and on the micro level, the generation of new western Sichuan folk houses and the reasonable utilization, consisting of three kinds of typical construction sites:near the road, the cultivated land and canals in the ideal mode of courtyard design during the new rural construction courses. It should be avoided imposing the urban value and concept and value to the countryside, by changing the rural traditional life way, by breaking the harmony balance between between man and man, and human and the nature. In the hope that our proposition could be contributed to protecting the local culture and traditional architecture in the new rural construction, by providing the feasibility of the theoretical basis and technical support for the future rural construction development in Western Sichuan plain area.
