Landscape lighting is an important means of beautifying our living environment and showing cities'characteristics. There are many defects in traditional lighting devices, including neon, fluorescent lamp and incandescent lamp, such as high energy consumption, short service life, single flash mode and difficulty in unified coordinating and managing. As a new type of light source that can effectively overcome the above shortcomings, LED is gradually replacing traditional light sources in the field of landscape lighting and other lightings. So far, there is no uniform standard for the control method of LED landscape lights. Most LED controllers adopting 8-bit microcontroller as core, can achieve a simple landscape pattern display. With the scale of the LED lighting expanding, landscape complexity increasing and the demand for remote control proposing, control system cored by MCU can not adapt to the future development of lighting control requirements. In this paper, adopting NIOS II soft-core processor as the central control unit, a set of LED landscape control system based on TCP/IP protocol and DMX512 protocol is proposed. LED landscape light controller is the core of the whole control system. After adding the LED light control IP core, it can make the LED links to show static, gradient and flashing three types of patterns in full color of dynamic changes. Using SOPC design, our system can meet the application requirement such as high speed, large scale, full color and remote control. In this paper, firstly, a set of large-scale, full-color LED landscape light control system based on Ethernet and DMX512 protocol is proposed. SOPC technology and the design principles and related concepts of LED controllers and LED Landscape are introduced. Secondly, the hardware design process of LED landscape controller is described in detail from the aspects of program design, chip selection, schematic drawing. The hardware platform for NIOS II embedded processor is built. After that, the LED lighting control IP core based on DMX512 protocol is developed using top-down approach and added to the AVALON bus. Using SOPC Builder EDA tools, embedded processor system is customized, combining LCD, PIO, SD card, Ethernet controller, LED lighting control IP core and other peripherals as a whole. Next, the design process of full-color LED landscape lights based on DMX512 is introduced. Finally, LED landscape control interface is built, and the joint experimental result is shown.
