With the development of wind-power industry, wind turbine bearings, as one of the key components of wind-power equipment, has a crucial impact on power generation efficiency, safety and life. The process of making bearing parts and the cleanliness of the bearing parts need to be of high quality, for the speed increaser bearings need to bear the load and need to be of high abrasion resistance and long operational life. However, traditional method of cleaning has shortages in the efficiency of cleaning, decontamination rate and environmental aspects which will make it not meet the requirements of sulfide process as a result of the cleanliness of the production process. All these will restricts the improvement of the quality of bearings. For this reason, according to the problems exeisted in cleaning of the bearing parts, the paper will analysis bearing hydrocarbon cleaning technology and process and develop an equipment of cleaning to meet the need in this aspect. The main research contents are as follows:(1) A detailed investigation of the bearing cleaning indstry at home and abroad is made, the commonly used cleaning agents are compared through which hydrocarbon solvent is selected as cleaning agents. What's more, the clean ability aimed at bearings of the hydrocarbon solvent is selective analysised.(2) The hydrocabon cleaning process is analysised, and the ultrasonic cleaning and vacuum degassing process, rinsing process, steam cleaning and vacuum drying process is selective analysised. The cleaning process is established based on the above analysis and vacuum degassing technology is decided to use in the ultrasonic cleaning process.(3) The cleaning equipment is developed. During the process, the cleaning systems, vacuum drying systems and fire safety systems of the equipment are designed based on the characteristics of hydrocarbon solvents. The drawings of pipeline system and mechanical system are designed, which are reference of future development of analogous equipment design.(4) According to the need of automatic control of the cleaning equipment, PLC control system is designed and control program is compiled. The cleaning equipment running parameter is determined to assure cleaning quality by debugging.This reaearch has been used in actual production. It can clean bearing parts 80kg/washing basket and each basket just need 5 minutes to be cleaned on the production-line. It saves the cleaning time up to 80% or more by high-volume and assembly line-style cleaning methods. The equipment met the request of the client on the effectiveness of cleaning and drying and achieved good economic results. Meanwhile the results of this study can also be drawn on bearing componets used in wind-power and other cleaning processes and finished bearings and also can be applied to other bearing reference.
