The extensive architectural design method has became more and more impracticably in the age which take more attention on the environment issue.The uniform architectural form which ignore geographical locations is a kind of violation to human needs. In order to promote green building development, this era requires a new design approach. When this method in order to achieve goals of sustainable development, in a refined, geographical patterns reflects the building, and the environment. Furthermore, this design approach should also provide a platform which is easy to understand, to share and to operation for architects, engineers and owners. The study of Green Building pattern language, that is, trying to find this new design approach.More and more serious problem of desertification in China has been a serious threat to urban living environment. Yulin is located in the edge of the desert.One side, the development of the city has been driven by the energy economy,on the other hand, been threatend by ecological deterioration.The sand area of Yulin, on behalf of such a context-that is, cold regions, solar energy rich areas, wind energy rich areas, vulnerable habitat areas and energy economy areas in such as multi-threshold fast-area intersection. How can finding the right direction of green building development in such a multi-threshold, will become what this paper's seek for.In this paper, the study of the pattern language of Yulin sand area, is based on the "pattern language" theory, and in order to find the univeral rule which about the relations of "Architecture and Environment". Based on the construction climate theory, then explore building adaptive models under a specific environment; based on the morphology of green building, then reconstruct the adaptive model to a specific design pattern language. Within the logic framework, the author using the project experience of "Yulin sand Forestry Science and Technology Industrial Park Planning", and established the basic techniques of green building design way:maximizing passive design+ efficient strategy on sustainable energy and resource+architecture model of technology integration.Based on this technical route, the paper used bio-climatic map, based on the method for analysis of meteorological data in Yulin City, and finally got the passive design principles in the area.To give priority to the winter design:(1) prevent cold and heat preservation of the most important; (2) make full use of solar energy; (3) architectural design need to consider the wind. Second, consider the Summer Design:(4) to consider the thermal insulation design; (5) to prevent the solar radiation; (6) the use of natural ventilation; (7) the use of building thermal storage cooling.Proposed five passive design patterns:passive solar house, natural ventilation, shading, thermal storage cooling and virescence. In order to make a more direct benefit to designers, this paper reconstruct the above-mentioned design patterns as having the "green" morphological characteristics of fourteen kinds of architectural design pattern language:a compact body, huge roof, self-shading, exposed to the sun,yard, atrium, close in verandah, side court, double glass-curtain wall, complex wall,shading device,earth up and sand up,building with earth,plant in sand.In addition, the paper discusses the way using sustainable energy and resources in building,under the Yulin's multi-semantic context which is " cold regions, solar energy rich areas, wind energy rich areas, vulnerable habitat areas and energy economy areas ".This discusse begin from five part:the active solar, wind, geothermal, biomass and water resources.In the end, this will have the morphological characteristics of green building design pattern language and low power consumption of the system model combined with profiles of intent in the form of a preliminary plan to build a sand Yulin region of green building technology integration model. Finally, this paper based on the experience of "Yulin sand Forestry Science and Technology Industrial Park planning",and use four sectional drawing to show the pattern languages and integrated technologies model, initially constructed four kinds of technology integration model of green building in sand area. At the same time, combining the concept design of two types architectural and relying on computer simulation means, this paper made a preliminary exploration of the design applications with the relevant pattern language.
