As the important energy transfer point for the power transmission and distribution , substation main electrical wiring system is an important part of the power system.Therefore, the power supply greatly depends on the main electrical wiring. The failure of substation main wiring may result in one or more generating units escaping from the power system and may cause one or more transmission lines blackout,so it may force users to loss power. In some cases, this result may cause chain reaction of overload and system shock, this result also may threaten the safety of the entire power system. Along with expanding the scale of power systems and more complex of the electrical wiring, the reliability of main electrical wiring has a very urgent significance for the power economy and security.According to the current situation, in this paper, the GO method and minimal path is used to analysis the reliability of substation main electrical wiring.In this paper, the background,principle and system reliability analysis of the GO method are described in detail, the principle of the GO method is introduced, the calculation formulas of GO operators are given .And GO method and fault tree method was compared. Next, the state space model of the major components of power substation have been constructed and analyzed,the reliability index calculation formulas have been put forward, and the equivalent algorithms for the series and parallel systems are introduced.Finally, reliability of ZX 110KV step-down substation is analysised by using this algorithm. It has obtain a more reasonable way by comparis four run ways.In the instance ,it is first to find the minimal path sets of the substation, according to each individual load minimal path sets , the GO models have been establishmented. Next, reliability index is obtained by using GO method,and computer program is worked out. Finally, the reliability indexes have been comparised. The example shows this method is correct and effective.In the end of the paper, measures of improving reliability for substation have been put forward. The further work has been analysised,recommendations have been puts forward.
