With the deregulation of electric power market in China, eleetric power industrial have taken Place dramatic changes in free eleetric power market condition, and users and power utilities pursue theirs maximum benefits.Coordination between reliability and economy is a difficult problem for managers,operational and plannling staffs in electric power system. Under the premise of ensuring the reliability, we strive to the best economy.In this paper, on the base of the significance of substation main electrical connection reliability analysis and economic analysis and the research status at home and abroad are introduced, interrelated concepts and the main contents of substation main electrical connection reliability analysis and economic analysis are introduced in detail.The main contents include reliability analysis for various indexes and formula,economic analysis for various indexes and formula,component's reliability model and formula.The non-independence of breaker rejecting act and the non-random of component's scheduled maintenance are considered when the model is set up.For the reliability evaluation method, based on in summarizing the analysis of existing methods, with the minimum cut-set method as a key study,and proposed based on the adjacency matrix of the minimal cut-set method.This method stores the network structure of substation main electrical connection by adjacency matrix;then finds out all minimal paths to compute minimal path sets which are used to compute minimal cut-set and judge which component fault can lead corresponding outlet wire of substation to stop run by minimal cut-set.An example is given for three different 110KV substation main electrical connection programs, that is no bridge connection, internal bridge connection and external bridge connection. Firstly, we use the minimal cut-set method to get the minimal cut-set of three main electrical connection in the different outage states, then according to the reliability model and the reliability original parameters of main electrical connection's components, calculating the probability of main electrical connection's components in different states,and base on this we can calculate the reliability index of three main electrical connection in different outage states.Finally, reliability index can be converted into economic index to get the the minimum cost of various programs.
