With the rapid development of national economy and society, a wharf of port facilities occupies an important position to a national economy and the social development. In addition, compared with the railway, aviation, highways, pipelines and other transportation modes, water carriage has the advantages of energy saving, environmental protection, low cost, small area of low investment, large capability and so on. Some huge economical loss and bad social effect will be made because of the interruption of the port facilities. Therefore, it is necessary to research how to enhance the seismic performance of the pile wharf.The main idea of this paper of is introduce fluid fluid viscous dampers damper to the wharf, which is put into bewteen the wharf and connecting structure. Fluid viscous dampers can improve the seismic performance of the wharf throuth replacing the pile to take part of the level of seismic force and seismic energy.The research contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Time history analysis of the wharf analysis, compared with no fluid viscous dampers and fluid viscous dampers on the seismic responses, which can show fluid viscous dampers can improve the seismic performance of the wharf.(2) At the different of the peak acceleration of ground motion and seismic waves, so that fluid viscous dampers can terminal structure of different seismic response and fluid viscous dampers for energy dissipation.(3) Through the plastic analysis at different seismic wave, it's compared with no fluid viscous dampers and fluid viscous dampers on the seismic responses,Through research the following conclusions can be obtained:(1) Through the flexibility analysis, we can find that the maximum horizontal displacement is reduced 45.40%, the maximum pile top of the horizontal shear is reduced 39.2% at average of the wharf with fluid viscous dampers.(2) Through the plastic analysis at different peak acceleration of 220gal,310gal and 400gal, we can find that the maximum horizontal displacement is reduced 46.39%,56.31% and 57.65%, the maximum pile top of the horizontal shear is reduced 28.94%,33.52% and 32.59%39.2% at average of the wharf with fluid viscous dampers.(3) Through the plastic analysis at different seismic wave, we can find that the maximum horizontal displacement is Newhall wave, the second is El centro wave, the minmum is Taft wave; the maximum pile top of the horizontal shear is El centro wave, the second is Newhall wave, the minmum is Taft wave.
