In recent years, more and more of the fluid viscous dampers sparked widespreadattention in academia. A large number of practical projects used fluid viscous damper forwind-resistant design and seismic design of structure and it got remarkable effect. Thispaper introduced the properties and analysis model of fluid viscous damper and putforward the method of energy dissipation design based on the intensity-reduced structurewith fluid viscous damper according to the characteristics of setting fluid viscous damperstructure. The intensity-reduced structure with fluid viscous damper to storage anddissipate the energy of the earthquake inputting to the structure. Make sure theintensity-reduced structure meet the regulations of code for seismic design of buildings toensure the safety of the main structure. This paper was based on the11-story reinforcedconcrete frame shear-wall structure in Xinjiang Wuqia as engineering background. Usedthe PKPM software, a intensity-reduced structure model was set up. Utilizing ETABSsoftware, the energy dissipation damper of the intensity-reduced structure was study. Themain work includes the following aspects:(1) Based on the calculation method of traditional layout of the fluid viscous damperand the regulations of Code for seismic design of buildings, this paper put forward theseismic reduction design flow chart of the intensity-reduced structure. According to thestorey displacement angle of the intensity-reduced structure under the ground motion timehistory analysis find out the position of the weak layer of the structure, and set the fluidviscous damper on the weak layer of the structure evenly.(2) This paper established the analysis model of concrete frame structure with8layers by ETABS. It simulated the seismic design of the fluid viscous damper and find outthe optimal layout method of the damper, through the storey displacement angle and layershear were investigated. Confirm the selection of parameters of the damper throughcomparative the hysteretic curve of the damper.(3) Import the intensity-reduced structure model from PKPM to ETABS, the seismictime history analysis is analyzed by ETABS finite element software. Comparatively the displacements, inner forces and energy variation of the intensity-reduced structure thatbefore and after control with the fluid viscous dampers. The results indicate that seismicintensity-reduced design for structure with fluid viscous dampers is feasible. Ensure thesafety of seismic design of the intensity-reduced structure through the comparative thestructure layer shear, which the result of time history analysis by the seismic fortificationintensity according to the code for seismic design of buildings and the intensity-reduceddesign relative to the code for seismic design of buildings.
