Now, a serious phenomenon in the port conveyor systems often appears, which resulted in enormous waste of energy. The main reason is that the port conveyor systems often run with no load or light load. In order to solve the problem, some energy-saving technologies for the belt have been studiedand, and some achievements have been obtained form domestic and abroad. The achievements include the technology of controlling belt machine flow automatically, the technology of transforming the connection of asynchronous motor form"Y" to "â–³", the technology of lowering the voltage of the system and the technology of reducing the number of motors. These technologies are good reference for the study of the article. Because the technology that reducing the number of motors has the advantages of implement-easily, low cost, short cycle, reliable operation, and it is especially for the port belt transmission system and related sites, so the paper mainly does research on it.This paper first introducts the data acquisition system of belt system, and analyzes the data of the motor parameter when 3 motors are running and the data when just 2 motors are running. Based on it, the paper analyzes the effect of the program that one of the motors is cut off when 3 motors are working together.Then the paper analysis the transient process when the switching motor operate again in the program that two motors run continuously and one motor assisted in theoretically, and conclude that there is a big torque impact and current impact in the transient process. To solve this problem, the paper analyzes the traditional way of adding the clutch to the system, and proposes the program of using the frequency voltage control method. In addition, the paper does detailed analysis on the two methods. That proves that it is feasible of the frequency voltage control method. The paper also compares the two methods in effect and in cost, and conclud that it is necessary to adopt the technology of frequency control method.Finally this paper does modeling and simulation for the motor system based on Simulink. The paper does experiments on the system in the following situation:the switching motor startup directly, the switching motor startup when adding clutch to it and the switching motor startup when adapting frequency voltage control method. And does some research on the dynamic characteristics and static characteristics of the motors. The simulation results show that the frequency voltage control method has a good performance in decreasing the torque impact and current shocks comparing with the traditional method, whitch proves that it is effective and feasible of the frequeney voltage control method. The conclusion has important theoretical significance for the design and reform of the belt transmission system.
