The Research On Architectural Layout In Xiangnan Traditional Village Inhabited By The Single Family Name

On the morphology of the Han nationality living together has always been a widespread attention topic of the anthropology and the history. After the Song Dynasty, there were thousands of the ancestral temples, the clan fields and the genealogies as the core of the blood relationship settlement.The blood clan is one kind of basic unit of the social organization. The blood relationship provides the intangible link for it and the region relations provides the tangible link for it.It is this intangible and tangible link that has made it consist in ancient Chinese society for a long time.Southern Hunan has lots of traditional villages and most of them exist by a single surname living together. The traditional villages of Southern Hunan are also very unique because in its particular geographical environment they form their own unique villages under the influences of Anhui,Jiangxi and Lingnan multi-cultural. Therefore the research on the architectural layout of traditional villages by a single surname living together of Southern Hunan has the unusual significances.This paper takes the traditional villages by a single surname living together of Southern Hunan as the object of study and researches from bottom to top.That means from the architectural space and the tunnel space's constitution pattern to the village architectural layout and the shape,on the massive village investigations and on small to large,bottom-up progressive relationships it elaborates the layout characteristics of the object of study.The full text is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction which mainly introduces the history and the status of the study on traditional villages. And then it elaborates the main purpose, the significance and the methods of the research on the architectural layout of the traditional villages by a single surname living together of Southern Hunan. The second chapter mainly from Hunan's geographical position,the natural climatic environment and the history culture's background elaborates the general information of the traditional villages of Southern Hunan. The third chapter has carried on the simple comparative analysis on the formation and features between the single surname and the multi-surnames of the traditional villages of Southern Hunan.The fourth chapter has discussed the village's architectural space and the tunnel space's constitution pattern by studying the village's architecture monomer composition,architectural in modular form and architectural unit combination to narrate the pattern of the architecture monomer constituting the architectural complex.The fifth chapter analyzes the architectural layout and the morphology of different building units,combinations to form a single surname village through some typical cases.And it also narrates the causes of its formation.The sixth chapter elaborates the comfortable communication space and the ecological environment which the single surname villages'architectural layout creates.It also has the guidance and the reference for modern community's harmonious communication space and dwelling environment.
