Research Of Ship Navigation Integrated Monitoring System

Ship navigation integrated monitoring system is a navigation system which is integrated by navigation, control, display and communication. It is playing an increasingly important role in the field of modern navigation. So it has been an inevitable development trend to explore and research the ship navigation integrated monitoring system. ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) as the kernel composing of ship navigation integrated monitoring system, is a new technology of modern navigation. It is valuable to the safety of navigation and can increase ship navigation efficiency. It has become one of the main directions of studying the ship navigation integrated monitoring system. The overlay display of the AIS (Automatic Identification System) information and the electronic chart information can improve supervisory capability of the ship navigation integrated monitoring system. And it also plays a great role in preventing collision and ensuring the safety shipping. Therefore researching and exploring ECDIS and the the overlay displaying of the AIS has a great significance. This article is to proceed from the above two aspects to research the ship navigation integrated monitoring system.In the first part of this article, it describes the generation of electronic chart and display principle, and introducces the international standards and Specifications about S-57 (Digital Hydrographic Data Transmission Standard) and S-52 (Chart content and display standards). Propose a network topology of ECDIS based on the industrial Ethernet by using the internal and overseas research results, The network structure has an excellent data exchange capabilities and processing power, using the double-redundant structure can improve the operation reliability of system, and at the same time, design the main frame of ECDIS about the software, and introduce the functions and relationships about the basic modules of the frame.Based on the frame of the ECDIS designed above, the article achieves the design and Development of the ECDIS software used the tool MapX in the environment of Visual C++, and describes the design and development process of the various functional modules in detail, and then introduces the function and implementation about arious modules of the ECDIS focuslly.Based on the ECDIS designed above, the article discusses the Overlay display about the AIS information and the electronic chart information. It introduces communication mechanism and data format of AIS, discusses the verification method during the transmission of the AIS information, and describes the process and the methode data analysis about the AIS information. The effection shows that overlay display the AIS information and the electronic chart information can enhance the supervisory capability of ship navigation integrated monitoring system.
