Gerbera jamesonii Bolus, one of the fresh cut flowers in the world, was introduced to our country from overseas in 1940s. Because of its gigantic flowers and bright color, it's the ideal material of the bouquets, flowers baskets and artistic flower arrangement, thus it is consumer's favor. Since reforming and opening in our country, the flower industry has developed rapidly, and the cut flower of Gerbera jamesonii Bolus has become one of the flowers developed rapidly. However, its output is universally not high and its quality is poor at present.Based on the cultivation experiments of 12 new types of the cut flower of Gerbera jamesonii Bolus on the soil, the Crossfire, Tiramisu, Magnum, Debora, Larensa, and Winona, which are suitable to plat on the local environment, were screened. From the comparison tests we founded Optima, Crossfire, Tiramisu, Lilabella, Magnum, Debora, Winona are suitable to the soilless culture. Meanwhile, through the tissue culture and the fast reproduction engineering research of the cut flower of Gerbera jamesonii Bolus, it is discovered the optimum medium for inducing adventitious buds from explants is 1/2MS+6-BA8.0+NAA0.2+IAA0.1, the optimum medium for adventitious buds multiplication is MS +KT8.0+NAA0.2 and the optimum medium for routing is 1/2MS+NAA0.1. When the seedling has 3-4 pieces of leaves and over 5 cm of root, it should be transplanted into the matrix of pearlite—peat earth (the ratio of pearlite to peat is 2 :1). The survival rate of the seedling may reach above 90% on condition that the temperature must be kept 25 ℃ or so and the humidity 85-90%. Through comparsion and analysis of 6 different kinds of matrixes which influence the growth and blossom of the cut flower of Gerbera jamesonii Bolus, it is concluded that the best matrix formula for the organic ecotype soilless culture technology of the cut flower of Gerbera jamesonii Bolus is cinder + pearlite + peat earth (the ratio is 2: 1: 1).Moreover, the variety optimization plan and the new technology of organic ecotype soilless culture for cut flower of Gerbera jamesonii Bolus, which are valuable for producers' reference were concluded by the author based on research results. The variety of the cut flower of Gerbera jamesonii Bolus is great plenty and furthermore new varieties have been developed unceasingly at home and abroad, so we must make a reasonable choice according to the local condition and the market demand. Meanwhile, we must consider factors such as the matrix origin and investment cost comprehensively in extension of soilless culture technology.
