Studies On The Breeding And High-yield Cultivation Technology Of "Jinong Shijixing" Eggplant

With the vegetable industry developing, the area of protected eggplant cultivation is developing rapidly. Farmers need new eggplant hybrids with high resistance to disease of eggplant, tolerance to low temperature, high yield, and comparatively high -yield cultivation technique as well. However the foreign eggplant hybrids for protected fields are very popular in our country now. The price of foreign eggplant seed is so expensive that decelerates the development of eggplant production and improve its economic efficiency. In order to solve these problems, we have selected and breed new eggplant hybrids according to the farmers'request above. We hope what we did can speed the development of eggplant production and improve its economic efficiency. The main results are as follows:1. We selected and breed a lot of inbred lines in hybrid eggplant for many years. Inbred lines Heitian97-14 is one of these, it's late maturing and heat-tolerance. It grows vigorously and has high resistance to disease of eggplant. The fruit is long type with purple-dark. Inbred lines Heiqiao95-22 is other of these. it's early maturing and tolerance to low temperature. The fruit grows vigorously and is long type with purple-dark and tender flesh.2. Jinong shijixing eggplant is an excellent eggplant F1 hybrid developed by crossing lines 97-14 with 95-22.It has vigorous growth and high resistance to disease of eggplant. It shows evident super-parent heterosis. Average disease index of Jinong shijixing eggplant for two years was 3.99, compared with average disease index of 94-1 eggplant was 31.98 for two years, the decrease rate was 87.5%.3. The statistic yield of Jinong shijixing eggplant from agriculture expert was 12315.2 kg/667m2 in greenhouse cultivation in winter and 7818.8 kg/667m2 in plastic tunnel cultivation in spring, compared with 94-1 eggplant the increase rate was 51.1% and 70.2%.4.
