Hyphantria cunea is a species of world-wide quarantine pest.In order to more effectively prevent and control it, a investigation and control test by chemical and biological means was made in Dongying district. Made the following preliminary results.1.Biological characteristics of Hyphantria cunea. characteristics of emergence and life history of Hyphantria cunea was systematic surveyed and found that fall webworm occurs three generations each year in Dongying area, two full generations, part of the 3rd generation. The generation of the instars interchangeably, irregular development, the first 2, 3 on behalf of the generations overlap. Summarized the life cycle of Hyphantria cunea in the Dongying area.2.Hyphantria cunea hazard tree species.18 tree species wew damaged by Hyphantria cunea in the Dongying area, of them mulberry, ash, locust, poplar, willow (Salix babylonica L.) 5 species is seriously damaged. but Hyphantria cunea didn't feed off Neem tree, cypress (Juniperus chinensis cv. Kaizuka), Ligustrum (Ligustrun lucidum Ait), etc.3.Hyphantria cunea predators investigation.Found of Hyphantria cunea few natural enemies in the Dongying area, natural control in the fall webworm play a smaller role, can not effectively control Hyphantria cunea. Dongying District survey found that natural enemies of Hyphantria cunea larvae only Dolichogenid singularis, pupal stage 4 species , Chouioin cunra, Tetrastichus septentrionalis,Coccmimns disparis, Exoristar japonica.1 species of predatory insects( Chrysoperla sinica Tjeder) and1 species of parasitic fungi ( Bcuweria bassiana). Among them, Chouioin cunra and Exoristar japonica have higher parasitic rate, reach 1.57% and 2.35%, the Dongying area advantagous natural enemies of Hyphantria cunea pupae species. At the same time Chouioin cunra host in nature conducted a survey and found 6 hosts.4.Bio-chemical control of Hyphantria cunea. Select Super Abamectin 1.8% EC, EC emamectin benzoate, diflubenzuronⅢNo. 3 to make control Hyphantria cunea test. Tests show that the use of 3 agents on the 1-2 instar has a very strong control effect, the use of super abamectin 1.8% EC, EC 2 treatments can reach 100% of control effect, the effect of benzoylphenal ureaⅢwas slow. Pest control more than 3 years old need to increase the concentration of 3 agents, and super abamectin 1.8% EC and EC emamectin benzoate was better than diflubenzuronⅢon quick.5.Hyphantria cunea nuclear polyhedrosis virus (HcNPV) control experiment and application. Studies show that the nuclear polyhedrosis virus (HcNPV) the best control period of 2 to 3 years old worm. Promote the application from consideration, the actual concentration of the best application of 2.5×10~7PIB/ML. there is a good effect using mixed chemical agents (0.25×10~7PIB/ML HcNPV and BT 1×104IU/ML) than only using the virus.6.Chouioia cunea in the Dongying area applied research. Studies show that the prevention effect of second generation is better than the first generation f using Chouioia cunea controlling Hyphantria cunea, Chouioia cunea can play a very good prevention and control role in Dongying area.
