Gardens ecology system is complex and dynamic, it has higher demand for the integrated management of pests. In this paper, the computer's application in agriculture and forestry was deeply discussed, which integrated lots of technology such as geo-information system, website navigation and information consultation. Making use of database technology and various programming techniques, the decision-making system of gardens pests' management was developed. The system can timely provide detailed information of gardens pests, and it can distinctly improve the gardens managerial efficiency, which has intelligent decision-making function, it is valuable in theory and practice.Based on Visual Basic 6.0 development platform, Appling object-oriented technology and visual programming, the expert system was established by way of database technology, achieving knowledge storage and management, sequentially realizing information consultation, diagnosis and forecasting of gardens pests.Collecting a lot of information and chromatic pictures about gardens pests, making use of Visual Basic 6.0 as developed language, simulating expert' ideas, three computer-aided diagnosis modes of plant pests were established, which include two-branch-key identification mode, exterior characteristics identification mode and intellective man-machine conversation mode. Two-branch-key identification mode simulates the general retrieval procedure, which uses information of the database to realize pest's identification. It is fit for family, genus, species classification of gardens pests; exterior characteristics identification mode depends on morphology and symptom of pests and realizes identification by way of user control; intellective man-machine conversation mode that is based on man-machine exchange, realizes pest's classification.Storing forecasting factors into database such as the optimum temperature, humidity, soil types and so on, the user must choose the true value of the average temperature, average atmospheric humidity and soil type firstly, then according to the rules designed in advance, the system completes the macroeconomic forecast about occurrence of pests.Based on database technology, the simple geographic information system was developed by Programming with Visual Basic language. This not only avoids using complex software such as MapInfo, but it's more free and flexible. And it's easy to mix Geographic information systems with general information system and realize data sharing, meanwhile show the advantage of GIS in pest's control.In Visual Basic Programming environment, making use of MSChart directly, it can translate data into visual charts and achieve more powerful function than Excel and other analysis soft wares. Under the program control, MSChart can show the dynamic chart about different pests and their natural enemies in different stages. The dynamic curves analyzes the change trend of pests and their natural enemies, thus it can guide prevention and control.Combining web with database technology, the navigation system about gardens pests was established. Storing relevant data into the database, it can achieve rapid location through database's search function. It can find the correlative record according to various key words and show the IP address in the textbox. Making use of IE. Navigate of VB, the IP address can link to relevant website conveniently, which would change with the record in the database. The database query technique and web navigation technique are combined excellently, improving the efficiency and function.
