Study On Flora Of The Medicinal Seed Plants In Gansu Province

Study of medicinal plant flora is very significant to development of new drugs,floristic regionalization,implementing GAP,and introduction and domestication of rare and endangered medicinal plants.In this paper,medicinal seed-plants floristic regionalization of Gansu province is done according to component and characters of the flora whose related information has been normalized and input database.Relation of geographical component and property-flavour-efficacy of TDC is analyzed,as well as relation of altitude and medicinal characters.The main results as below:1.Gansu has a rather rich flora which is composed of 1860 species(including subspecies and variants,barfing cultivars),726 genera and 187 families of seed plants,of which 239 species are collected by Pharmacopeia of People's Republic of China.2.Gansu medicinal plant flora has a obvious temperate character.The genera of Temperate are 73.91%,of which North Temperate element is primary.The flora is influenced intensely by Tethys flora.3.The floristic composition is rather complex,indicating that several floras intercross and penetrate reciprocally in this region.Sino-Japan elements,Sino-Himalaya elements,Central Asia elements intercross there,and Loess Plateau elements,Hengduan Mountain elements,Neimeng-Xingjiang desert elements,Qinghai-Tibet Plateau elements intercross there too,which belong to a lower floristic lever than the forenamed three ones.4.Lifeforms in this flora are rather abundant,and the predominent components are perennial herbs (50.54%),and shrubs,annual and biennial herbs,arbors,woody climber,herb climber in turn.5.Compositae,Papillionaceae,Ranunculaceae are the families that have more medicinal plants(in order of species quantity).Berberis,Polygonum,Thalictrum are the genera having more medicinal plants.The contribute ratio of Ranunculaceae,Labiatae,Polygonaceae is rather high.6.There are some relations between geographical components and medicinal characters.For example,bitter flavour drugs,cold nature drugs,heat-clearing drugs have a higher proportion in Himalaya elements,as well as pungent flavour drugs,promoting qi drugs in Central China elements,sweet flavour drugs,salty flavour drugs in Neimeng-Xingjiang desert elements(P＜0.01 or P＜0.05).7.There are some relations between altitude and medicinal characters.For example,bitter flavour drugs,cold nature drugs,heat-clearing drugs and relieve cough-melt sputum drugs are positive correlation,but pungent drugs,warm drugs,neutra drugs,wind-damp dispelling drugs and warming-inside drugs are negative correlation between the distribution of and altitude(P＜0.01 or P＜0.05).8.According to the geographical position and Climatic Characteristics in every area of Gansu,the flora Characteristics of medicinal seed-plants of Gansu and the clustering results of geographical distribution of main medicinal plants,et al,the medicinal plants flora of Gansu is divided into 5 regions and 6 small districts.9.The preliminary statistical results are 65 species(Variety and Subspecies included)distributing in Gansu which belong to 33 families and 53 genus.These species are rare endangered and protected medicinal plants which are addressed explicitly in the specific national provisions.Based on the flora characteristics and the actual conditions of Gansu,three proposes are brought forward.
