The experiment was designed to investigate the effect of 3 kinds of Chinese Herb medicinal Prescription on production performance, egg quality and biochemical parameters of laying hens, and the preliminary discussion to their mechanism was indicated. These data provide the academic and practical basis for the application of Chinese herb medicine additive in layer production.In the experiment, 400 56-week-old Hyline layers were randomly divided into 4 groups, Each group was assigned 5 replications and 20 layers per replication. The groupⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲwere fed with the basic diets containing 1%Ⅰ,1%Ⅱ,1%ⅢPrescription respectively and the controlⅣgroup fed with the basic diets. Feed and water were provided for ad libitum consumption. The period was divided into two phases including 10 days of pre-experiment and 40 days of experiment. Egg quantity and feed intake were recorded every day. At the end of the experiment production performance, egg quality and biochemical parameters were measttred. The results were as follows:(1) Fed Chinese herb medicine can increase the rate of producing eggs, quantity of eggs. Compared with the control group, the egg production of groupⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲincreased by 5.59%,7.46%,8.65% (P<0.01), No significant difference in egg weight and feed consumption was observed among the treatments (P>0.05).(2) There no significant difference was observed by the egg-shaped index,eggshell thickness,relative eggshell weight, haugh unit,egg yolk coefficient,egg yolk comparative weight,the content of water,protein in egg white and egg yolk,the amount of fat and phosphor lipid in the egg yolk between all the groups, but compare with the control group, Chinese herb medicine groups have upward trend (P>0.05),Ⅱupward trend distinctly; The treatment groups were better than the control group in egg yolk color (P<0.05)(3) Feed superimpose Chinese herb medicine can reduced the contents of cholesterol in egg yolk signlly (P<0.05), and the downward trend evidently with days. (4) Analyse the heavy metal and drug-residue demonstrate that Chinese Herb Medicine can reduce the content of heavy metal and drug-residue in eggs, and conform the criteria of health food.(5) Chinese Herb Medicine had different effect on the layers' serum biochemical parameters. Comparing to the control group, the total cholesterol of the groups with Chinese Herb Medicine decreased significantly (P<0.05); the contents of serum high density lipoprotein were increased significantly(P<0.05) expect PⅠwhich was changed little(P>0.05); IgA, IgG and IgM concentrations in serum all had increased more or less (P<0.05); the concentrations of calcium were increased (P<0.05) and serum level of phosphorus rarely changed (P<0.05).(6)Laying Hens fed Chinese Herb Medicine had the trend of decreasing the in serum GOT,GPT and increasing the serum LDH,ALP, but no significant difference was observed among the treatments (P>0.05)(7) Concerning with production performance, egg quality and biochemical parameters, all the 3 kinds of Chinese Herb Medicine Prescription can achieve desirable effect especially PⅡis the best.
