A referencing flock from 2001 to 2003 was utilized to investigate the association between microsatellite markers polymorphisms and body weight from Liangshan semi-fine wool sheep by polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and multiplex gel electrophoresis followed by silver staining. Fifteen microsatellite markers on chromosome 3 and X in sheep genome were adopted to the phenotype- marker, correlative analysis. Phenotypic data of five traits were as follow: birth weight(BW), weaning weight(WW), weaning daily gain(WDG), 1.5-year weight(1.5-YW) and 2.5-year weight(2.5-YW).The correlative analysis of Phenotypes of five traits were handled statistically which revealed significant correlation between birth weight and weaning weight, birth weight and 1.5-year weight, weaning weight and weaning daily gain, weaning weight and 1.5-year weight, as well as weaning daily gain and 1.5-year weight. The experiment result about the inheritable character of these fifteen microsatellite markers were that: the average number of alleles were 7(from 3 to 12), average observed heterozygosity of micro satellites were 0.6288, average expected heterozygosity of micro satellites were 0.7877, the average polymorphic information (PIC) were 0.7518.The PIC of the Marker BMS0460 was up to 0.842, while marker MILVET09 has the lowest PIC(PIC=0.569). The polymorphic information of all the microsatellite markers were high or middle polymorphic which could provide reliable result to this study.Variance analysis was performed by the GLM procedure of SAS6.12 for traits and 15 markers. The result of this analysis indicated that 7 microsatellite loci were significant or extremely significant correlation with the five weight traits. Marker BMS0460 was significant correlation with birth weight (P<0.05), Marker RM150 was significant correlation withweaning weight and weaning daily gain (P<0.05), marker BMS1953 was significant correlation with 2.5-year weight (P<0.05), marker BL0004 and BMS1248 were significant correlation with 1.5-year weight (P<0.05), marker AE25 was significant correlation with weaning daily gain (P<0.05),marker BMC1009 was significant correlation with 1.5-year weight (P<0.01) .We coule see the Marker RM150 has significant correlation with two traits at the same time.A further multiple comparisons was conducted for the different genotypes of the same microsateUite marker which was significantly correlated with the weight traits. The result were as follows: EI,EH and DF at BMS0460 were favourable genotypes to BW. BB,DI and JJ at RM150 were favourable genotypes to WW. EI,GG,DI and JJ at RM150, AA at AE25 were favourable genotypes to WDG. EE and CD at BLO004, BC and AA at BMS1248, DI, CE and GI at BMCIO09 were favourable genotypes to 1.5-YW.CF,CE and BD at BMS1953 were favourable genotypes to 2.5-YW.
