| Ardisia mamillata Hance belongs to a Myrsinaceae Ardisia Swartz shrub, which is one of rare plants for watching foliage, fruit and a long period of appreciate indoors, with round leaves, foliage over the gland points as the tongue fur - and red-villus, and red fruit of the velvet. But most of foliage plant's leaf surface were smooth hairless. Preliminary researches on foliage plants mainly concentrated on expression of physiology and color as well as Anthocyanin analysis, however, there were few reports on morphology structure. In this paper, we studied Honghushe and Lvhushe, two kinds of Ardisia mamillata Hance, by studying their morphology structure and pigment, in order to reveal the difference between the two varieties, and to provide the oretical basis for choosing plants with high appreciate as well as to add causesanalysis of foliage plants of appreciate. The results are as following:1) Neither Honghushe nor Lvhushe had changed, including leaf type, leafmargin, apex and basal, in different leaf ages. Both of which blades were oval, and positive and back blades had gland points and epidermal hairs. The epidermal hair on positive blade come from the blade uplift, midrib of blade both sides with epidermal hairs; Leaf length of Honghushe with 8.7±1.8 cm, leaf width with 3.8±0.5 cm, which of Lvhushe with 8.1±1.4 cm, leaf width with 3.6±0.4 cm.2) Blades of Hongheshu and Lvhushe were surface leaf, and transverse sections were wave shape. Upper and lower epidermis cells only had one layer with multiple cells glandular hairs. Epidermal hair outgrown from the projections of epidermal cell; down of based cells formed cystic matter, and formed gland points on blade morphology, which made the leaf surface unevenness, just like tiger's tongue coating. While epidermal hair on lower epidermis has no cystic matter, lower epidermis has stomatal apparatus. The palisade tissue of mesophyll is formed with length cylindrical cells, the shape of the sponge histocyte's cells were irregular, arrangement evacuation, large clearance between cells.3) Top and bottom surface of blade had two types of multiple cells glandular hairs. One which was visible by bare eyes was the longer glandular hair, and was composed of more than 15 petiole cells and unicellular head. Another was the shorter glandular hair of multiple cells which can't be visible by bare eyes, its sizes of basal and top almost unchanged.4) In Honghushe, anthocyanin played the dominant effects on color appearance of leaf. So blade of Honghushe showed red. While, Lvhushe's chlorophyll contents was more than that of anthocyanin. So blade of Lvhushe showed green. |
