Bovine mastitis has been a common disease seriously affecting the development of dairy industry. Due to the complexity of its etiology, bovine mastitis has been hard to be prevented and cured. Large amount of antibiotics had been adopted to treat the disease for a long time, however, the treatment result was not good enough. In the present study, we tried to develop a low side-effect, no remnant and high efficient Chinese traditional medicine and its related therapy, based on the Chinese traditional medicine theory. After selection and field experiment again and again, we eventually developed an ideal Chinese traditional medicine antiphlogistin for external use. Clinical trial indicated that our self-made antiphlogistin behaved good transdermal effects and could penetrate skin easily, reach the focus directly and effect clinically significantly, which was of great significance for the prevention and treatment of bovine mastitis. This study included the following experiments.Experiment 1: The clinical survey of bovine mastitis. This investigation of clinical and subclinical cow mastitis was conducted in suburb dairy farms of Tsinan. As a result, the average percentage of clinical mastitis was 6.58%, the incidence of clinical mastitis of 1st birth, 2nd birth, 3rd, 4th, 5th and over 6th birth were 3.86%, 8.04%, 5.26%, 9.45%, 9.52% and 28%, respectively. The average percentage of subclinical mastitis was 24.93%, the incidence of clinical mastitis of 1st birth, 2nd birth, 3rd, 4th, 5th and over 6th birth were 16.49%, 29.15%, 31.58%, 20.27%, 22.22% and 28%, respectively. It is indicated that the more a cow gave births, the higher of clinical and subclinical mastitis incidence was and the incidence of 6th to 9th birth was the highest.Experiment 2: Experiment on stimulation and security of the antiphlogistin. To daub this antiphlogistin on naked skin of rabbits with high dosage and 3 times a day, 10g each time for 7d continuously, the stimulation reaction of the antiphlogistin to healthy skin and damaged skin were observed. It is showed that only individual damaged skin appeared erythema and edema slightly and the others had no erythema and edema behaved clinically, indicating that the antiphlogistin had very little stimulation and was secure for skin use.Experiment 3: Experiment on the cure effect of sel-made antiphlogistin. The cure effect of self-made antiphlogistin to clinical and subclinical mastitis were observed, resulting that the average cure and efficient percentage of this antiphlogistin for severe clinical mastitis were 55% and 65%, respectively; and the average cure and efficient percentage of 3 days-administrated this antiphlogistin for subclinical mastitis were 74% and 88%, and 90% and 94% for 7 days-administrated. While the average...
