Study On The Ornamental Grasses And Its Application In The Landscape Architecture

Ornamental grasses are those plants of Gramineae can be widely used in various gardens; they also include some plants of Cyperaceous, Juncaceae, and Butomaceae. Ornamental Grasses is a new garden plant material. Their germless resources are abundance and they have great ornamental value. Actually, under the natural,diversified,sustainable development of landscaping construction, it is important and meaningful how to make clear to promote the designing level of the ornamental grasses with the elements of landscape architecture. Thus,the systematic researches on the ornamental grasses will indicate the academic significance and practical value as well. The main results were as follow:1.By the analysis of the connotation of the ornamental grasses,the concept of the ornamental grasses had been definitude; Further more, the relation and difference between the flowers and ornamental plants were discussed.2. Having been investigating the ornamental grasses in Shandong landscape Area, the germless resources of the ornamental grasses were tidied up at present, 400 species of ornamental grasses, including species and varieties, were concluded, which belong to 12 families and 100 geneses. Concerned about the adaptability for local environment and the sight impression, many well-behaved species were introduced.Survey shows that: The quantity and type of Ornamental Grasses used are very few, in Shandong, only 8 species of 5 families 7 genus;3. Based on the characteristic of the ornamental grasses, the classifications of the ornamental grasses were discussed, and the ornamental value and the application forms of the ornamental grasses in the landscape architecture were put forward.4. Using the survey questionnaire and statistical analysis, the configurations of the ornamental grasses in the landscape were further studied. And the best sight of the ornamental grasses was different because of the configurations of the ornamental grasses with different landscape elements: the configuration of the ornamental grasses with Topography emphasized particularly on the artistic conception and the color; and the two aspects of layout and artistic conception were important for the configuration of the ornamental grasses with the Path and Square; the Landscape Buildings'configurations of the ornamental grasses paid more attention to the color and the layout, followed by the artistic conception; the configuration of the ornamental grasses with the Landscape Plants needed think of the layout and the artistic conception; the layout was the most important for the configuration of the ornamental grasses with the essays. This offered more scientific reference for the applications of the ornamental grasses. Meanwhile, the sight of the ornamental grasses could be valued by quantitative analysis.5. Some problems and their resolvents were put forward by the investigation and the application of the ornamental grasses in the landscape Area. Further more, the research and the prospective future of the ornamental grasses applied in modern landscape architecture were also illustrated.
