| As herbs(except for the turf grass), ornamental grasses refers to a kind with beautiful and distinctive leaves colors, stems(culms), flower(sequence) or plant(bundle), and linear and lanceolate leaves being the main ornamental object, which is regarded as a new type of plant landscape material receiving increasing attention. This thesis, guided by the theory of plant taxonomy, gardening, landscape design, landscape ecology, and the theory of grey system, studies the application condition of ornamental grasses in gardening landscape of Changsha City. Through this study, it’s intended to figure out the types, methods and effects of application of ornamental grasses, so as to select great species with high ornamental values and nice growth conditions and put forward some suggestions concerning the scientific, ecological and artistic application of ornamental grasses. Therefore, this thesis plays a significant role in enriching the plant species, enhancing the plant diversity, complicating regional landscape, creating an excellent landscape effect, satisfying psychological needs to be back to nature and building economical landscape.This thesis has researched 48 sampling points through the quadrat method and line transects method which finds out;(1) There are 7 families,24 genera and 41 species ornamental grasses in Changsha which belong to Poaceae, Liliaceae, Iridaceae, Cyperus, Araceae, Typhaceae and Juncus. With green leaves as its main, colored leaves as a supplement, there are 8 kinds of ornamental grasses with foliage as the main ornamental object such as Miscanthus sinensis Andress’Zebrinus’, Phalaris arundinacea var. picta and Festuca glauca, as well as 23 kinds with inflorescence as the main ornamental object consisting mainly of Cortaderia selloana, Phragmites Communis, Acorus calamus. The ornamental period focuses on spring, summer and autumn season.(2) The most widely used ornamental grasses is Ophiopogon japonicus(375%), followed by Ophiopogon bodinieri Levl. (33.33%), reineckia carnea(27.08), Liriope platyphylla Wang et Tang(25%), and Phragmites communis(20.8%). They are used as ground, flower borders, waterfront landscape, border barrier, slope revegetation and rock slope, the effect of configuration of ornamental grasses and landscaping element have been coordinated to each other, and can maintain ecological stability of the landscape.(3) There are four defects in application effects, which are shortage of application categories, lack of utilization of local products and simple configuration, monotonous forms of application and gap among four seasons landscaping, poor winter landscape and inefficient care and maintenance. But the overall effects of landscape, ecology and society is great.(4) Through the grey comprehensive evaluation, screening suitable application in Changsha, ornamental grasses varieties of ornamental value. Nominated 41 varieties of ornamental grasses and ideal link at 0.6 per cent of the 33 species, including ornamental index higher (and ideal link above 0.8) ornamental grasses species of Cortaderia selloana (and ideal types of the correlation 0.8763), Phragmites communis (0.8151 are associated with ideals of degree).(5) From the principles, types, methods, effects of the four aspects of ornamental grasses in Changsha gardening landscape recommendations proposed humanist, local characteristics, science and art, ecology and diverse application of principles, recommended 30 kind of ornamental grasses included Cortaderia selloana’Pumila’, Nassella tenuissima, Triarrhena sacchariflora, Miscanthus sinensis, Imperata cylindrical ’Rubra’, Pennisetum.setaceum ’Rubrum’, Saccharum arundinaceum, Carex muskingumensis, Andropogon yunnanensis, Arrhenatherum elatius cv. Variegatum, Neyraudia reynaudiana etc. after introduction and domestication used in Changsha city, recommends that the promotion of ornamental grasses in flower beds, gardens, rock gardens, Application of potted plants, to landscape, ecological and social applications with good effect. |
