Study On The Introduction Of Two Ornamental Grasses And Its Application In The Landscape Architecture

With the development of society,people are paying more attention about their living environment,and the urban landscape is an important measure for improving the urban living environment.As a part of urban construction,landscaping should conform to the trend of the times.At present,China has strongly advocated building a conservation-minded society,thus saving gardens as part of a conservation-minded society ought to be vigorously developed,especially in serious shortage of water resources in North China.How to choose economical plant material to form a landscape is particularly important.Ornamental grasses are excellent and rustic natural atmosphere to meet the phychological demands of people eager to renturn to nature,and they meet the construction of economical landscape standard,so they should be strongly applied.The main purpose of this paper is that through introduction of Ornamental grasses to increase the garden plant species of Hebei district, rich choices of conserving landscape plant materials,and then to enhance and enrich the regional landscape.This can vigorously promote the economical,ecological and harmonious development of the modern garden.The main contents of this study are as follows:First,through issue survey questionnaire,statistics and analysis data can find that people know little about ornamental grasses,and there are also some problems in the garden application,like improper management,do not know very well about ornamental grasses and less application species, single application form and the poor landscape of winter.Then for these problems put farward some corresponding countermeasures and suggestions,mainly involves: strengthen propaganda promotion,strengthen species introduction domesticate and native species mining,innovate configuration techniques,and take measures like covered and undersow to make up the poor winter landscape,the last is that strengthen the conservation management of ornamental grasses.Second,study the seed germination characteristics of Mexican feather grass and Giant feather grass,then master the effect of temperature and illumination time on seed germination and suitable soil depth,all these are in order to provide convenience for application.The study found that the suitable germination temperature of Mexican feather grass in 15~20 ℃, the suitable germination temperature of Giant feather grass in 15~25℃,variable temperature of day and night can improve their germination.Increase the illumination time can improve the germination rate,and the seed of Giant feather grass is more sensitive than Mexican feather grass on light.The suitable soil depth of Mexican feather grass is 0.5cm,the Giant feather grass is 1cm,when the soil depth is too deep will inhibits the germination.Third,through observate these two ornamental grasses’ growth status and phenology period in Baoding,showed that the texture of Mexican feather grass is soft,the hight of it is 28.35 cm,green-in more than 260 days,and the survival rate of winter and summer are 100%,during the trial period it has a good state,with strong resistance and pest-free,so it entirely suitable for application in Baoding. The texture of Giant feather grass is rough,the first year its hight is 27.91 cm,green state at about 270 days,during the trial period it has a poor growth state,can not resist the summer heat,the summer survival rate is 68.42%.However,it has better resistance of drought and cold,the winter survival rate is 100%,and there are no pests or diseases during the growth.The second year it has a better growth state,so it needs a further studies.Fourth,based on the theory of scientific,ecological,saving,aesthetics and native principle,summarized the application of the two species ornamental grasses,Research showed that this two pieces of ornamental grasses can applied to parterre and border,specialized graden,golf field,and also can be used to construct village landscape.Mexican feather grass also can be used to ground cover,pot,slope protection,configuration Park stone and road,and the vertical planting.Giant feather grass can be used to isolated planting,or be used as barrier,believing that the landscape of ornamental grasses will reflect enormous economic and ecological benefits in the near future.
