Tobacco were cropped on five typical type soil in Dali with treating the crops by 3 ways of non-fertilization, normal fertilization and organic-inorganic fertilization. Supply of quick-acting fertilizer of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on the soil and effects on growth, yield and quality of tobacco plant were studied. The conclusions are as follows:1. The fertility of 5 types of soil are of obvious differences. The best one is the soil from Haihong of Jianchuan, then the red soil from Xiaoqiao of Xiangyun, the worse is the red-yellow soil from Juli of Midu, the other two kinds of soil have little difference.2. Fertilization can increase the content of effective nitrogen in soil at the earlier stage of tobacco plant growth. There is some difference between various kinds of soil without impact of the own quick-acting nitrogen content in soil. The nitrogen content in tobacco leaf will be affected by the content of quick-acting nitrogen in soil and its quality. Fertilization can increase the content of nitrogen in tobacco leaf. Organic or inorganic fertilization will not certainly affect it.3. The content of effective phosphorus in soil has great impact on phosphorus content in tobacco leaf. If the content of effective phosphorus in soil is high, when the content of phosphorus in tobacco leaf reaches the top point, it will begin to decrease late, and the phosphorus content in tobacco leaf will be higher. Fertilization can increase the effective phosphorus in soil, and the content of phosphorus in tobacco leaf at earlier stage of growth. But the content of phosphorus in tobacco leaf will not increase with the change of fertilizer quantity and will remain below 0.2%.4. The content of effective potassium in soil will have great impact on potassium content in tobacco leaf. If the effective potassium content in soil is high, the potassium content in tobacco leaf will be high. Fertilization can increase the effective potassium content in soil effectively, and increase the potassium content in tobacco leaf at earlier growth stage, but will have limited effect to increase the final potassium content in tobacco leaf.5. Concerning the impact on yield and quality of tobacco plant of 5 kinds of soil with different treating way of nitrogen fertilizer, the four trial bases have normal result except Xiaoqiao of Xiangyun. The yield of normal fertilization and organic-inorganic fertilization is higher than that of non-fertilization, but there is not obvious difference between normal fertilization and organic-inorganic fertilization.6. Concerning the inner chemical component of tobacco leaf, high effective nitrogen content in soil and fertilization will lead to increase of total nitrogen and nicotine in tobacco leaf. Phosphorus content in tobacco will be mainly affected by supply of effective phosphorus in soil, and potassium content in tobacco will be mainly affected by supply of effective potassium in soil, fertilization can increase the potassium content in tobacco leaf on a certain degree. According to the result of smoking panel, non-fertilization gains the highest point in total smoking panel except Xinsheng of Midu; organic-inorganic fertilization gains higher point than normal fertilization in Baizhishu of Weishan, Haihong of Jianchuan and Xiaoqiao of Xiangyun; normal fertilization gains a little higher point than organic-inorganic fertilizer in Xinsheng and Juli of Midu.
