Morphogenesis is the process that embryonic cells differentiate into organs and organisms with different appearance and structure.The Bovine horn skin appendages include the keratin shell and bone. Research on the morphogenesis of bovine horn skin appendages not only has the theoretical value to the popular problems in developmental biology and the epithelium-mesenchymal interactions mechanism in the organic morphogenesis, but has application perspective in hair follicle biology, stem cell biology and regeneration medicine.Ed 70~143,82~163 yaks and cattle embryos, 0.5 year old and 1-year-old adult yak and cattle horn were used as the experimental material, Ed51~85 and three weeks and 0.5 year old Tibetgoat horn used as reference material. Through the paraffin tissue sections, HE staining and immunohistochemistry EnVison study yak and cattle horn, the development of histological changes and the relationship with the hair follicles, and to detectβ-catenin in the hair follicle of horn border of yak and cattle expression of different sites, results are as follows:1. Yak and cattle horn has different morphologic appearance. Yak has a pair of rough surface ,long and big curved horns; cattle has a pair of gloosy surface, short and small straight horns.2. Yak, cattle and tibetgoat have different diversify in horn primodium. Tibetgoat is more similar with yak, but cattle in thickness and layers in horn primodium. The time difference of yak and Tibetgoat horn periphery hair follicle morphogenesis is more different with cattle.3. Yak and cattle has different levels of relationship between hair follicles and horn sheath. Yak horns sheath and hair follicle of horn border is closely related; cattle has a transition zone in horns sheath and hair follicle of horn border, and the relationship between them is not close.4. Yak and cattle hair follicles and the development of horn sheath have the different development models.Development of yak horn sheath active all of genernation potency cells of hair follices which near and far from horn border, initiative take part in development of horn sheath; development of cattle horn sheath depend on epidermal horny cell differentiation.5.β-Catenin expression in the hair follicles of horn border in after born yak and cattle are the main strengh, mesenchymal supplement.
