This paper carried a detailed study on the experiment and demonstration of the straw bioreactor technology in protected agriculture in Xi'an area. The results show that the straw bioreactor technology could increase 5cm~20cm ground temperature 1~2℃, raise the concentration of carbon dioxide in greenhouse in winter 1~3 times, give a boost to tomato's coming into season earlier more than 9 days, increase tomato yield and net income by 28.6% and 39.3%. Compared with CK, application in the winter-spring pepper could move up harvest date by 7-21 days, increase early 6 weeks yield by 24.7% and total yield by 26%. Application in the spring crop melon could increase ground temperature 2~3℃and air temperature 1℃, raise the concentration of carbon dioxide in greenhouse 1~2 times, increase melon yield by 55.6%. The technology has obvious effects on raising farm products'output, increasing products'quality, promoting straw's multipurpose using, improving protected agriculture's production conditions, etc. The application n effects are as follows: (1) It will lead to multi-level efficient reuse crops by largely consuming the crops straw. (2) It will effectively resolve many questions, such as low ground temperature in winter, shortage of carbon dioxide, descending of soil's physical and chemical properties, etc.The popularization and application methods and key building technologies of the straw biological reactor applied in Xi' an are summarized. The technique has four major effects such as promoting earlier yields, enhancing quality, resisting disease, and increasing yield. It has extremely popularized value and broad application prospect.
