Research And Development Of Timber Storage And Transportation System Software Based On RFID Technology

RFID has been recognized as one of ten key technologies as a rapid, real-time, accurate high-technology for gathering and processing information, which has wide application prospects in production, retail, logistics, transportation and other industries. RFID is the most popular areas of current research techniques, and it's non-contact, automatic access to obtainning multiple information for providding technical support in constructation of information and automation. Therefore, it will provide a technical basis for forestry information and automation systems at the forestry sector.Timber storage and transportation is the efficient, fast System Engineering process which harvests timber from the forest in the mountain to customers in the foot. At present, the major problem troubling the timber storage and transportation managers is that some staff take personal gain using the methods of "Recording little more loading", "necking down", "good charge as bad one" in the links of inputting timber into the library, inventory and allocation output of library and other support areas, resulting in the loss of national timber and the economic losses of enterprises. The source of the problem lies in loopholes at timber storage and transportation management, this paper proposes the concept of RFID-based timber storage and transportation management learning from the management at other areas of RFID in order to improve management at the process of timber storage and transportation, reduce the human capital, increase the economic efficiency of enterprises, prevent the loss of timber, and save the national forest resources. The system is based on RFID, combined with computers and internet which gathers all the information of timber storage and transportation automatically, meanwhile, it can intelligently guides the timber input and inventory to achieve the automation of timber storage, library input and inventory.This paper proposes practical significance about taking RFID into wood storage and transportation systems combined with the problems of the timber storage and transportation and the requirements of system characteristics, at the same time, the current scope of RFID and forestry application was analysed. The deep study of RFID and timber storage and transportation systems made readers recognize the feasibility of RFID replacing manual records and the bar code technology. It is the essential requirement of social development to solve problems and take full systemic research about RFID-based timber storage and transportation management. Through clearing the requirements of system, building integral systems chart and designing each functional module, finally the applications of automatic identification was developed and implemented, as well as the collection systems and information management system. The system process and database of RFID-based information management system for timber storage and transportation was analysed and designed using Visual Basic and Access database management information system tools.Fianlly, the software of RFID-based timber storage and transportation system was provided using Microsoft VB 6.0 for the actual development of the timber storage and transportation management.
