Acanthopanax senticosus (Rupr. et Maxim. )Harms is a typical Chinese herb medicine. It was reported that the crude extracts and glycosides in the roots of Acanthopanax senticosus have antifatigue activity and that is even stronger than ginsing's crude extracts'. We used some simple extraction and isolation methods, as CC(Column Chromatography), TLC(Thin Layer Chromatography), and some new technologies such as HPLC , LC/MS,MS/MS to found antifatigue compounds in roots of Acanthopanax senticosus Harms. 19 components in the crude extracts of it were obtained by CC and TLC . HPLC analyses were carried out to get as many compounds as possible in these components. The successful LC/MS/MS analysis has found plenty of compounds defined ,such as chlorogenic acid ,eleutheroside B,and isofraxidin glucoside ,and compounds undefined in the number 9 and number 11 component. The molecular weights of the undefined compounds are 302,318,346,354,390and 406. The results we have got prove the LC/MS/MS technology a rapid and convincing new way hi analyzing the traditional Chinese herbal medicine.
