| BACKGROUNDS: Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB) is a disease with high incidence and recrudescence. Its pathogeny and pathogenesis still have not been made clear. There is some superiority of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) curing CHB in clinic, while it has been short of perfect preparation. Therefore exploring the effective Chinese patent medicine to treat CHB is of great significance.TREATMENT: With researches on a great deal of TCM documents and theories, I discuss about principles of TCM curing CHB here. In the experiment mice were injected iv with BCG5x107 bacilli/mouse, and 24 hours later separately treated with YiqiYangyinJieduHuoxie(YYJH) decoction as a whole and its separating prescription through pouring into their stomach, 1 time/day. After 12 days, iv lipopoly saccharides (LPS) 7.5 ug/mouse. Serumaminotransferse (ALT), tumor necrosis factor a (TNF-a), interlenkin-6 (IL-6) level andhepatic tissue total protein (TP), nitric oxide (NO), malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD) level were detected respectively 16 hours after iv LPS. Liver tissue were evaluated too. RESULT: YYJH can remarkably improve the inflammation damage of the rats' prostate;reduce the abnormally high level of ALT, MDA, NO, TNF- a, IL-6; increase the abnormallylow level of TP, SOD. The function of YYJH was remarkably more advantageous than its separating prescription.CONCLUSION: Deficiency of Qi and Yin, toxic material and blood stasis are basic pathogenesis of CHB. Nourishing Qi and Yin and removing toxic material and blood stasis are important treatment principles of CHB. YYJH can ameliorate hepatic function; protect liver cell membrance; inhibit the lipid peroxidation; reduce the liver injury result from highlevel of TNF- a, IL-6 and regulate immunity. The formula of YYJH is reasonable. It is a effective decoction of treatment on CHB.
