Experimental Study On The Changningtang On Rats Of Ulcerative Colitis (UC)

Objective: To study the effect of changningtang on interleukin-4 (IL-4 ) and nitric oxide (NO ) in ulcerative colitis of rats. Methods: In animal experiment, ulcerative colitis models were induced by 2, 4-Dinitrochlorobenzene (C6H3ClN2O2). The rats were randomly divided into A, B, C, D, E. The A, B,C received traditional Chinese treated with changningtang and used difference mathod. A feeded stomache with the Chinese herb; B coloclysted with the herb;C received both of mathods. The D is model, and the E is blank. Blood serum IL-4 content and mucosa NO content were assessed. Results :the content of IL-4 were increased in group A, B and C, especially in group A. There were distinct difference compared IL-4 value of group A with that of group D and E(p<0. 01). Difference of IL-4 value was not found between group A and C(P>0. 05). At the same time , There were distinct difference compared NO value of group B with that of group D and E(p<0.01).Difference of NO value was not found between group B and C(P>0. 05). conclusion : the "changningtang" were effective for rats ulcerative colitis . the mechanism of the medicine is achieved bossily through improving IL-4 activities in blood serum and reducing No content in intestinalmucosa. They can be a therapy used to adequate patients in future.
