Objective of investigationPolycystic ovary syndrom(PCOS)is a neuroendocrine and metabolic disease which has complicated etiologicalfactors,it has the marked features such as developmental disorder of egg chambers, insulin resistance and hyperandrogenism. The typical manifestations are chronicity anovulation, menostasia or oligomenorrhea, infertility, obesity, hypertrichosis and polycystic ovaries.Along with the diversify of modern life, the incidence of Polycystic ovary syndrom has the tendency of gradually increment. The disease rate of the women in period of duration is 5%~10%.The disease rate which diagnosised by ultrasound is 21%~22%in the women who in period of duration. Now the Polycystic ovary syndrom has become the second frequent reason following with salpingemphraxis infertility. The clinical differentiation of symptoms and signs for classification of syndrome is complicated,it relates to the entrails such as liver, spleen and kidney. The clinical manifestation is asthenia in origin and sthenia in superficiality which heterogeneous with asthenia and sthenia, renal deficiency is the origin, phlegmatic hygrosis and haemostasis are the award. The method of the clinical treatment of PCOS is multitude. But there is no way which can improve the all of the clinical symptoms with single medication. The combined treatment is the direction of the clinical investigation. Some investigations display Chinese medicine has determinate superiority in the adjustment of reproduction function and endocrinal metabolism. The artificial periodicitcal treatment of Chinese medicine treat the disease by stages according to menstrual cycle foundated on the differentiation of symptoms and signs,it based on Chinese medicine rationale accustomizates the mutual growth and reduction between yin and yang of the kidney, and combines with the different phases of the genitical glandmodernal follicular development of modern medicine, and the Chinese indigenous medicine presumes generation bases on the balance of kidney-tiangui-spirt and surname-the uterus. The conbined treatment of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine surpasses to any single medication and raises therapeutic effects, and it will become the main way in the treatment of PCOS in the future. To investigate the clinical curative effects,we did this research under the direction of Professor Ying Yan.MethodsAll the cases which were dated from January,2007 to January,2008 came from the out-patient clinic of gynecological department in the First Affliciated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.Patients which were consistent with our study standard randomly were divided into two groups:Group combination of TCM with Western medicine, treated with the artificial periodicitcal treatment of Chinese medicine combined Diane-35 and Group western medicine, treated with simple Diane-35.The imformation of patients' endocrine secretion was tested pretherapy and 3 months after treatment. At the same time,we observed the improvement of clinical symptoms such as menstruation, body weight,BBT and so on.Results1.After treatment, the cases of irregular menstruation improved significantly in TCM combined with Western medicine group and Western medicine group(P<0.05),while they were all improved significantly between the two groups(P<0.05);After three months post-treatment BBT one-way improved significantly in TCM combined with Western medicine group and Western medicine group(P<0.05),while they were all improved significantly between the two groups(P<0.05)。After three months post-treatment four cases in fertility were pregnant in TCM combined with Western medicine group,as one was pregnant in Western medicine group.Acne, hirsute score had not significant difference in the two groups respectively as compared before and after treatment(P>0.05),and they also had not significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).2.After treatment, the levels of serum LH,LH/FSH in TCM combined with Western medicine group and Western medicine group were all obviously lower than those of pretherapy(P<0.05),and there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).The levels of serum FSH were not obviously lower than those of pretherapy(P>0.05) while there was no significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05). The levels of serum T in TCM combined with Western medicine group was obviously lower than those of pretherapy(P<0.05);and it was obviously lower than those of pretherapy in Western medicine group(P<0.05);there was significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).3.After treatment, the levels of BMI in TCM combined with Western medicine group and Western medicine group were all obviously lower than those of pretherapy(P<0.05),and there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusions1.Renal deficiency is the main pathogenesis of PCOS.2.The artificial periodicitcal treatment of Chinese medicine combined Western medicine was a significant therapeutic principle in Renal deficiency PCOS.It could decrease the levels of LH,LH/FSH,T,BMI significantly to regulate menstruation, recover OV,and impregnate a few infertility patients. The therapeutic effect was better than the effect of using simple Western medicine.
