Purpose To detecting the expression of Fhit(fragile histidine triad gene) and CerbB-2 in the normal mammary gland tissue and the tumor one, and investigate the relationship between them in the breast carcinoma tissue and the contribution in the evolution of carcinoma. It was for the early diagnosis and treatment of breast carcinoma. Methods Chose 195 breast carcinoma, breast benign tumor and normal tissue who had intact clinical record and admitted in Central south university Xiangya medical college Yiyang clinical hospital during Jan 2005 to Sep 2006. Analyzing the expression of Fhit and CerbB-2 in the 105 breast carcinoma,40 benign tumorand 50 normal ones by immunohistochemistry SP methods. Results (1)The expression of Fhit in the normal mammary gland tissue and breast benign tumor is obviously higher than the one in the breast carcinoma(p<0.05).(2)The expression of CerbB-2 in the normal mammary gland tissue and the breast benign tumor is obviously lower than the one in the breast carcinoma (p<0.05). (3)The more positive CerbB-2 expressed in the breast carcinoma tissue, the lesser positive Fhit did. (4)In the breast carcinoma tissue with lymphonode metastasis, the more positive CerbB-2 expressed, the lesser positive Fhit expressed or even absent. Conclusion (1)The expression of Fhit in the normal mammary gland tissue and breast benign tumor is obviously lower than the one in the breast carcinoma. (2)The expression of CerbB-2 in the normal mammary gland tissue and breast benign tumor is obviously higher than the one in the breast carcinoma. (3)The Fhit and CerbB-2 were expressed in the breast carcinoma inversely. (4)The Fhit and CerbB-2 were expressed in the breast carcinoma inversely.
