Objective:Through of animal safety experiment, Anti-obesity Function evaluation ,and population-based intervention trial, to study the safety and anti-obesity function of Compounded Fat-reducing Capsules,which is a mixture of Lotus Leaf, rhizoma alismatis ,cassia seed, green tea, nippon hawthorn fruit, rhizoma curcumae longae, aloe.The research detected the mechanism of fat-reducing, and a person with adiposity will be provided an safely and effectively function food.Methods:1. Safety evaluation:The acute toxicity, genotoxicity and subacute toxicity were assayed,so that understanded the toxicity of the compounded capsules, observed the effection of growth and development,evaluated the genotoxicity and potential carcinogenicity.2. Anti-obesity function(animal experimentation):Through model rats with nutritional obesity, observed body weight and fat content in rats after be given the compounded capsules.3. population-based intervention trial:The simple obesity were given the compounded capsules, and determined the change of weight, body fat mass, waist circumference, Hip circumference , observed the side effect.Results:Through animal testing , attested to the compounded capsules didn't have distinct subacute toxicity and genotoxicity.and in the process of experiment,not observed the neurological symptom,such as anorexia, restless, irritability,in experimental animals.It can reduce body weight and fat pad weight, but food intake were not effected in rats.In simple obesity,the weight, body fat mass, waist circumference, thickness of subcutaneous fat were decreased,and it can decreased CHO and TG in serum. No side effects were observed.Conclusion:The Compounded Fat-reducing Capsules were Component of homology of medicine and food,and it was effective in fat -reducing, and with little or no toxicity.
