ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1)and teenager hypertension or left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH) in them.MethodsIn 34 normal individuals(including 15 boys and 19 girls) and 36 patients with the prophase of teenager hypertension(including 19 boys and 17 girls) and 33 teenager hypertension patients(including 18 boys and 15 girls) ,they are all from 13 to 15 years old. To draw 2ml venous blood of every group.Saved serum to -70℃ultra cold freezer after centrifuge ,37℃defrosted when specimen enough. The serum level of IGF-1 was measured using enzyme-linked immunoassay, and America A﹠R corporation provided the kit. Left ventricular mass index (LVMI) was calculated based on parameters determined by echocardiography . Differences in blood-fasting sugar( BFS),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),LVMI and serum IGF-1 among groups of normal controls, prophase of hypertension or hypertension were analyzed with univariate ANOVA. Pearson linear correlation was employed to identify the possible relationship between serum IGF-1 and BFS,TC,TG,systolic blood pressure (SBP),diastolic blood pressure (DBP),LVMI.Results(1). The serum IGF-1 level was higher in prophase ofhypertension patients than in normal controls( P
