The Early Protective Effect On β-cell Function In Type 2 Diabetes With The Therapy Of Nourishing Yin And Clearing Away Heat

Objective To discuss the early protective effect onβ-cell functions in type 2 diabetes with the therapy of nourishing yin and clearing away heat, which help to find the effective solutions treatment and prevention for this disease.Methods Choose 60 patients suitable with symptoms of type 2 diabetes. We used the simple and randomed method to divide them into two groupes:control group and treatment group. Each group included 30 patients. Besides other normal medicines, the control group used Glimepiride Tablets (Amaryl) and the treatment one took the therapy of nourishing yin and clearing away heat(Zhibai Dihuang Decoction)together with Glimepiride Tablets.2 groups were observed for 30 days. Before and after 30-day treatment, measured fasting plasma glucose (FPG),postprandial 2 hours plasma glucose (2hPG),fasting insulin (FINS),insulin sensitivity index (IAI) and insulin resistance index (IRI) of both two group, and collected the corresponding time section points of clinical symptoms. Applying software SPSS 17.0 to analyze the result then contrast among members of each group and one group to another group. Analyzing the changes of index and improve clinical symptoms of patients under the study. Results (1) After treatment, clinical symptoms points of both two groups significantly decreased, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.01). After treatment, the reduction of points of treatment group was greater than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). (2)Regarding Clinical effects of the two groups, treatment group was higher, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). (3) Compared before and after the treatment, the treatment group and control group FBG,2hBG, FINS, IRI were significantly decreased than that before treatment, IAI higher than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.01). Between the treatment group and control group after treatment, FBG,2hBG, FINS, IRI, and IAI of the treatment group changed greater than control group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). (4)During the observation period, the dosage of Glimepiride Tablets,the dosage of treatment group was smaller than control group. Conclusion The therapy of nourishing yin and clearing away heat (Zhibai Dihuang Decoction) could reduce the clinical symptoms of type 2 diabetes, to a certain extent could reduce fasting plasma glucose,postprandial 2 hours plasma glucose and fasting insulin levels and improve insulin sensitivity, reduce insulin resistance, the effect of using nourishing yin and clearing away heat decoction together with Glimepiride Tablets was better than only using Western medicine Group, and taking medicine can reduce the dose, with good clinical efficacy.
