ObjectivesTo study the prediction effect of metabolic syndrome(MS) and its comp onents on the severity of coronary artery stenosis in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS) from the perspective of Phlegm Blood Stasis syndr ome.MethodsA total of 169 acute coronary syndrome patients who have been done co ronary angiography in Guangdong province hospital of TCM from 2008.6 to 2 010.12 were included. They were grouped to Phlegm Blood Stasis syndrome(PB SS) and non Phlegm Stasis syndrome(non-PBSS) (106 cases,69cases),and furt her divided into four groups:Phlegm Stasis syndrome with or without MS gr oup and non Phlegm Stasis syndrome with or without MS group. We collected each patients' biochemistry markers from the Medical records system. The a ngiographic severity of coronary artery was expressed as a Gensini score.ResultsCompared with non-PBSS, PBSS patients with higher TG, glucose levels an d higher Gensini score and lower HDL-C levels(P<0.05), and non-PBSS-MS gro up compared with PBSS-MS group, PBSS-MS patients with higher TG, glucose l evels (P<0.05);PBSS group, whether or non-PBSS group with MS, they have hig her Gensini score compared with which without MS (P<0.05);Pearson bivariat e correlation analysis showed that Gensini score has significant positive correlation wiht TG, Glu (P<0.01, r=0.278 and r=0.371)and has significant negative correlation with IIDL-C(P<0.01, r=-0.257).The Gensini score was se lected as dependent variable in multiple regression analysis. The results showed that HDL-C, Glu, whether HBP, whether DM, whether hyperlipidemia were significant independent factors(P<0.05), which whether HBP (β=0.230), whet her the DM(β=0.245), whether hyperlipidemia(β=0.238), Glu(β=0.333) were protective factors, HDL-C(β=-0.231)were risk factors. Systolic blood press ure, diastolic blood pressure showed no significant difference in all of t he above statistical analysis.ConclusionBetween different TCM syndromes, patients with different blood glucose levels and Gensini score, PBSS group and PBSS MS group were the highest;Ge nsini score and HDL-C there were significant positive correlation, while t he Gensini score and TG, Glu there were significant negative correlation;H DL-C as a protective factor in the incident which increased the degree of coronary stenosis, HBP, DM, hyperlipidemia, Glu as risk factors for its emer gence.
