Objective:To study the relationship among Insulin resistance,Isletβ-cell function and TCM blood stasis syndrome of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM),and to understand the relationship between the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus and TCM blood stasis syndrome, which provides some suggestions about the therapy of T2DM by promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis.Methods:According to the 1999 WHO diagnosis standard of T2DM,60 type 2 diabetics were selected. Then according to 2002 "Chinese native medicine new medicine clinical research guiding principle—blood stasis card diagnosis standard",they were divided into two groups—TCM blood stasis syndrome and non-blood stasis syndrome. Besides, another 30 healthy people were collected as the control group.Measured all patients'the fasting plasma glucose(FPG), the fasting insulin(FINS) and the glycosylated hemoglobin(HBA1C). And then Insulin resistance was reflected by insulin resistance(IR) index which was computed through the formula:HOMA-IR= FPG×FINS/22.5; Isletβ-cell function was reflected by insulin secretion(IS) index which was computed through another formula:HOMA-IS=20×FINS/(FPG-3.5). At last, we analyzed the relationship among Insulin resistance,Isletβ-cell function and TCM blood stasis syndrome of type 2 diabetes mellitus.Results:1. Compared with the control group,HOMA-IR of the T2DM group was significantly higher(P<0.05),but HOMA-IS of the T2DM group was significantly lower(P<0.05).2. Compared with the non-blood stasis syndrome group,HOMA-IR of the blood stasis syndrome group was significantly higher(P<0.05),but HOMA-IS of the blood stasis syndrome group was significantly lower(P<0.05).3. HOMA-IR was positively relative to the TCM blood stasis degree'scores (P<0.01), but HOMA-IS was negatively relative to the TCM blood stasis degree'scores (P<0.01). Conclusion:Insulin resistance( IR) is positively relative to TCM blood stasis syndrome of type 2 diabetes mellitus,but isletβ-cell function is negatively relative to it,which implies that there will be the close relationship between pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus and TCM blood stasis syndrome. And it will be probablely useful to remedy T2DM by promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis.
