As the society changes, our post-90s (born after 1990) university students have encountered totally new circumstances comparing with the post-80s (born after 1980 before 1990). After the year of 2008, the post-90s, who were largely recognized by their "unique" characteristics through out the entire society, became the main component of the freshmen. So we wonder, if there is something scientific significant differences within personality traits between those two huge generations? This paper was focused on comparing the post-90s and post-80s'personality traits in a way of combining measuring data collection and personal interviewing, to seek if there is any difference between their personality traits.Our research was based on a comparison between the results of the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (or 16PF) 1927 new bachelor students of year 2009 and 1050 new bachelor students of year 1999 for a university in shanghai. After one year, we reselected some of the 1927 new bachelor students of year 2009 to test them with the NEO-Five Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) and interview them personally. The study concluded the following:(1) The results of 16PF claimed that there were significant differences within Warmth (A), Dominance (E), Privateness (N), Openness to Change (Q1) these 4 items between post-90s freshmen and post-80s freshmen, also significant differences were found between different gender and specialty.(2) The results of NEO-FFI showed that post-90s scored high marks on neuroticism (N) and conscientiousness (C) factors, low marks on agreeableness (A) factor compared with the norm, we found that the conscientiousness (C) score was scientific higher for the high GPA group than low GPA group, also higher within Shanghai local students comparing to non-locals.(3) The formation of personality traits of post-90s is affected by the social environments changing, such as economic development which is increasing rapidly, the information ages which is coming quickly and etc. As the educators, we should pay attention to the cultivation of students healthy personality under today's social background, we should be full aware of the responsibility of the senior education for students in good physical and metal health, we should make account of the factors effecting the students personality developments and draw up the education programs accordingly.
