Although more and more researches have focused on the piano teaching in normal colleges, little attention is paid to the reference to other related disciplines. With the expansion of cognitive psychology to Music, it becomes a valuable topic to study how to combine the principles of cognitive psychology and normal college piano teaching. The cognitive psychology maintains studying the structure and process of cognitive activity itself, and also considering these psychological processes as a kind of information processing, which can enlighten our teaching a lot. With a theoretical foundation of cognitive psychology, this thesis studies the students' psychological processes of skill learning in normal college piano teaching to explore their cognitive rules of learning, aiming to guide the piano teaching in normal colleges and enrich its theories.
