Pressure printing or characterizations of "zhi " word pattern pottery is the representative utensil of early Neolithic archaeological culture in Northeast area. And Spatial-temporal areas and cultural connotations of containing "zhi" word pattern pottery remains in Liaodong Peninsula is still a certain degree of vagueness of category. Strengthen the study of containing "zhi" word pattern pottery remains in the region, is not only helpful to understand the cultural relations between the different areas, to explore the archaeological culture in the region also lay the foundation for chronicle, pedigree and other related issues.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the preface.it describes the purpose of this article and its research significance.The second part is the discovery and understanding. It Introduces the discovery process and the understanding process of containing "zhi" word pattern pottery remains in Liaodong Peninsula.The third part is the naming and connotation. This article points out that the remains containing "zhi" word pattern pottery in Liaodong Peninsula should belong to the same lower Xiao Zhushan culture through re-carding and analyzing of the Neolithic remains in that region and identifies its cultural connotation.The fourth part is the period division and chronology. The remains of lower Beiwutun, lower Xiao Zhushan, lower Houwa, Dagang which are belong to the lower Xiao Zhushan culture are carried out a detailed study on segmentation. According to comparison with the surrounding archaeology cultural relics, the lower Xiao Zhushan culture is divided into three stages. Early stage is equivalent to late stage of Xinglongwa culture, which is no later than 5000 BC. Middle stage is equivalent to Zhaobaogou culture, dating from about 5000 to 4500 BC. And late stage is equivalent to the early stage of Hongshan Culture, dating from about 4500 to 4000 BC.The Fifth part is the distribution and type. It introduces the distribution range of lower Xiao Zhushan culture. The difference reflects the discrepancy among places within the same culture, namely, the southern part of "the lower Xiao Zhushan type" and the northern part of "the lower Houwa type".
