The Chinese grammar system is particularly rich and complex. Chinese compound directional completement has been difficult for foreign learners and teaching Chinese as a foreign language for a long time. For foreign students, Chinese compound directional completement is difficult to study and grasp it firmly because: first, there are many languages which don't have "compound directional completement" grammar item; second, Chinese compound directional completement has the high frequency of use in Chinese and plenty of meaning, flexible structure; third, teaching material didn't point to any candidate. Therefore, research from the point of view of foreign students who had the acquisition of compound directional complement will contribute to help foreign students to master the compound directional completement and improve the quality of Chinese teaching.This paper first compare Chinese compound directional complement with its corresponding expression in Vietnamese language. Detected that Vietnamese doesn't have the directly corresponding expression, mainly by using particle, adjectives, verbs and sentence. By collating, we found the characteristics of literal sense and figurative sense of compound directional completement in Vietnamese expression.After the collation and analysis, this paper based on statistics data, combined with questionnaire surveys and monitoring to sum up and analyze the faulty types of Vietnamese students in using compound directional complement, inspected Vietnamese students used compound directional complement situations. Therefore obtain the Vietnamese students used compound directional complement's law of acquisition.Through investigation, I found that elementary and intermediate Vietnamese students often make mistake in learning and using Chinese compound directional completement. The types of errors are the object dislocation, lack of verb, mistake in locating, figurative sense mistake, simple directional complements and compound directional complements confusion. The main causes of producing these errors were influenced by translating from mother tongue, the complexity of Chinese compound directional completement, the imbalance of scale of teachers explanation and students practice. Therefore basically obtain the elementary and intermediate Vietnamese students used compound directional complement's law of acquisition.As a foreign student, I also had the combination of my own experiences in teaching and learning the compound directional completement during writing this thesis. Hope that this thesis will be useful for Vietnamese students who are studying Chinese and will study Chinese in the future, help them to avoid those errors and improve the quality of learning. I also hope that this thesis which had the researching about the elementary and intermediate Vietnamese students used compound directional complement's law of acquisition can help for writing books for Vietnamese students to learn Chinese language and also Chinese language teaching materials as well, making it more targeted and more effective.
