This article firstly defines the object of study "Educated youth novel":The author has once been educated youth; the article mainly describes the life of educated youth in those years, or make the educated youth's life be main frame of conception; it mainly discusses the authors' attitude towards jumping a queue in their educated youth novel in new period which is between the year of 1978 and 1989 and this article calls the place where the author once jumped a queue "the second hometown".This article mainly discusses "the second hometown" among educated youth novels in new period by analyzing specific text based on this. The first chapter mainly describes that the countryside is source of evil. The educated youth went to countryside successively along with the time tide and the countryside in their mind is full of hope and revolutionary overtones, but the real countryside is not satisfying so the educated youth are eager to escape the countryside. The second chapter holds another attitude towards countryside and the author makes countryside poetic. When the reality turned into history and educated youth went back to their life on track and discovered that they could not go back to previous life anymore, they could only get comfort by memory and the countryside is quite beautiful at that time. The third chapter describes the countryside in history's self-examination and the author's self-examination and restatement of educated youth's life after peeling youth off the historical movement. Why is there great difference between different works by same history period and experiences? This article thinks that it mainly depends on the following factors:1.The erosion and modification towards memory and history by time; 2.The effect from social environment and trend of thought at that time; 3.The different points of view of treating and rethinking history by authors.
