In recent years, higher education in China Developing very rapidly and formed the discipline and efficience discipline system science basically. With large scale of art education system, High art education for the prosperity of the national art large quantities of outstanding talented people. Under Several years the National College Expansion, Specialty expanding art colleges and Liberal arts colleges have added Arts, Diversity of higher arts education formed the pattern of development. However, Art Major and stable development of norms, teaching quality assurance system, and graduate employment issues facing tough test as enrollment increases greater than the increase in investment in education.Art design education in Gansu Province started late. Compared to other provinces in China, The specialty is very single, with the relatively small scale. With the development in recent years, it still reveals a lot of problems for thinking.Based on the curriculum research of the art and design in colleges and universities in Gansu Province, through a large number of practical surveys, data analysis, the article attempts to reveal the curriculum problems in the art and design department in colleges and universities in Gansu Province.The problem mainly in the training objectives is not clear, and the type of structural course is slur. The longitudinal and transverse of course structure are not close. The course is lack of "creative", It is lack of emphasis on theoretical courses, practical courses in these areas.These problems result in professional art and design away from the course structure in colleges and universities in Gansu Province, even deviate from the goal, and the curriculum teaching purposes is unknown. The courses are confusions. The curriculum development has chaotic phenomenon. The article explained the main reason further on the unreasonable formation of Gansu advanced Art and Design Curriculum, mainly historical, practical and geographical. Reasonable construction of the curriculum system is the main problems in the professional art and design colleges and universities in Gansu Province to be resolved. Art design education in Gansu Province need to reiterate the importance of training objectives. By setting a reasonable academic course structure, and strengthening the theory courses, practical courses to optimize curriculum. By binding regions, the advantages of institutions, we stress the features to run a school and strengthen evaluation process of the management in teaching. Through these measures, make the curriculum more rational construction, thereby enhance the quality of training people.
