The Textual Exploration Of LiKaiXian's Contacts With The Eight Gifted Scholars During The Reign Of Emperor JiaJing

LiKaiXian,a man of letters in Ming Dynasty, was addressed as the Eight Scholars dining the reign of Emperor iia.Jing togethter with WangShengZhong,TangShunZhi, RenHan, LuGao, ZhaoShiChun, ChenShu and XiongGuo.However, study on their relationship is lacking ,which led to some mistaken viewpoints, for example, Mr. ChengTian classified LiKaiXian as TangSong school of literature in his work anecdotes of poems in Ming Dynasty.In fact, the Eight Gifted Scholars' time of assembling was probably not long, and their tenure of officials in the capital maybe was the only opportunity they met. When LuGao left the capital was unknown, but he was still in the capital in Jiaiing the 14"'. Inferred from their tenures, the Eight Gifted Scholars may only met in Jiaiing the 8"'.LiKaiXian's contacts with the Eight Gifted Scholars during the Reign of Emperor Jiajing were based on the atmosphere of politics and literary world. Jiaiing perior of the Ming dynasty is a special era during which courtiers always cater to the King and the junior always cater to the superior and people like to divide scholars and officials into different groups. All these influence LiKaiXian and the others. They were passively called the Eight Gifted Scholars.LiKaiXian and the Eight Gifted Scholars were both officials and scholars, which made their contacts be composed of both political contact and literature contact. The content of political contact is guiding and supporting each other,. LiKaiXian once recommended LuGao , CheShu and TangShunZhi as different government posts and LiKaiXian was also helped by WangShenZhong and LuGao in promotion. The reasons of their so many contacts were the common interests, similar political situation and attraction of each other's personalities. However, they did not hold identical views in literature and did not form the TangSong School of literature as well. LiKaiXian 's view of literature is not systematic .ln his view, literature served life completely, and literature is used to while away the time.Remaining thesis-the developing rode of study on LiKaiXian is very unique. The motive power of the study is from outside. There were 4 high tides about study on LiKaixian in history, they were affected by 4 respective outside forces, those were LiKaiXian's activities. Study of Water Margin, study of JingPingMei and the researchers' enthusiasm. The shortage of internal motive power on study on LiKaiXian led to the dismal prospects of study on LikaiXian.
