"Zhen Wu", one of the Taoist divinities, is named "North Monarch" in Pearl River Delta. The thesis expounds the spreading phenomenon and the interaction of the worship of "North Monarch" and the social and economic development in Pearl River Delta during the Ming-Qing Dynasties, by the textual research of the origin of "North Monarch" and the reasons that it became a Water-Deity in the South.
